Expert Tips on How to Choose the Right Coffee Roast

Medium roast coffee is known for its balanced flavor profile. It falls between light and dark roasts, offering a combination of both acidity and body. The beans are roasted at a moderate temperature, allowing the natural flavors and aromas to develop without being overpowered by the roasting process. This results in a coffee that is smooth, with a medium level of acidity and a slightly sweet aftertaste. The flavor notes in a medium roast can vary, but you can expect a pleasant balance of acidity, sweetness, and a hint of nuttiness or chocolate.

When it comes to caffeine content, medium roast coffee falls in the middle of the spectrum. Contrary to popular belief, the roasting process does not significantly affect the caffeine content of coffee beans. However, due to the slightly longer roasting time of medium roasts compared to light roasts, some of the caffeine may be lost during the process. Nevertheless, medium roast coffee still provides a good amount of caffeine to give you a boost of energy and keep you alert throughout the day.
